Booking

Step 2 — extras

Trip extras, baggage and carrier services, picking a seat on the plane, and choosing a travel insurance variant.

What this is for

Extras are things you may want but do not have to take. Checked baggage, a sea-view room, insurance.

This step is entirely optional. Under the form it says: "You can continue without extras.".

Who it is for

For anyone in the middle of a booking.

What you see

The title: "Tailor the trip to yourself". The subtitle: "Extras are optional. You pick only what you need.".

The "Already included" card

A list of things you do not pay extra for. For example the flight, basic baggage, transfer, meals. Each item has an icon and the note "included".

The "Extra options" card

A list of paid extras. Each one has a name, a short description, a price and an "Add to booking" tick box. Three extras are available:

  • Private transfer — instead of a shared bus.
  • Sea-view room — a room upgrade.
  • Extra baggage — a second suitcase.

You tick what you want. The price on the right (in the "Selected extras" card) goes up straight away.

The "Travel insurance" card

We show it when we have an insurance product for your trip.

Above the variants there is the scope, for example "7 days · 2 people".

The first option is always No insurance — description: "Continue without a policy — you can buy one later.". Below it are the policies to choose from. You click one (they are radio circles, only one at a time).

The cheapest policy is at the top. The list deliberately mixes two sources:

  • policies from our own partners — Basic, Comfort, Premium. They show a row "Cover sums: 150% of the base package", meaning the payout limits are half again higher than in the basic variant.
  • policies from an outside insurer — they show an "Insurer: …" row under the name and the description "The insurer issues the policy as soon as the booking is paid.". Under the description there is a "Policy terms (PDF)" link that opens the insurer's document in a new tab. It is worth reading before you buy.

Each policy shows the premium added to your order.

Below a note: "We add the premium to your order. We issue the policy after the booking is paid.".

The error if the choice does not pass: "Choose an insurance variant".

How do the two kinds differ? In price and in cover — and, if you change your mind, in how withdrawal works. From a policy of our own partner you withdraw within 14 days with the whole premium back. With an outside insurer's policy, that insurer decides whether you may withdraw and how much comes back. Details are in the "Cancelling and refunds" article.

The "Baggage and carrier services" card

We show it only for flights and only when the carrier has shared its extras.

The subtitle: "Extras sold directly by the carrier.".

The services are grouped by kind:

  • Checked baggage
  • Meal

Seats on the plane have their own card with a cabin map — we describe it below.

Each item has a label from the carrier (for example "checked 23 kg"), a price and who it applies to: "Passenger 1", "Passenger 2" or "All passengers". Sometimes there is also a limit: "max 2 pcs.".

Under the list a note: "We confirm carrier service prices when the booking is saved — the amount goes into the order summary.".

The technical error: "Invalid carrier service list".

The "Pick your seat" card

We show it only for flights and only when the carrier has shared a cabin map.

The subtitle: "Click a square, or move across the grid with arrow keys and select with space.".

The map is a grid of squares. Each square is one seat:

  • Green — free, available to buy.
  • Blue (filled) — yours, already selected.
  • Grey — taken, or not for sale through us.

Under the map there is a legend with those three states and a reminder: "Arrows move, space selects". Above the legend you see "Selected seats: 12A" or "No seat selected — you will get one at check-in.".

To the left of every row is its number. The gap between groups of squares is the aisle.

When the booking is for more than one person, the question "Who is this seat for" appears above the map with "Passenger 1", "Passenger 2" buttons. Pick the person, then click their seat.

Flights with a connection have one map per leg. The first leg is expanded, the rest hide under "Show the remaining legs".

If the carrier shows the cabin layout but does not sell seats through us, you will see: "This carrier does not sell seats through us — below is a preview of the cabin layout only.". You will then get a seat at check-in.

For screen readers: every square has a full description, for example "12A, window, PLN 45". You do not have to guess from the colour.

Step by step

  1. Read what is "Already included". Do not pay twice for the same thing.
  2. Tick the extras you want in the "Extra options" card.
  3. Choose an insurance variant or "No insurance".
  4. For a flight, choose baggage or a meal in the "Baggage and carrier services" card.
  5. If you want a particular seat, click it on the map in the "Pick your seat" card.
  6. Check the amount in the card on the right.
  7. Click "Next: summary".

If you want to fix people's details, click "Back to details".

What happens next

You will see "Extras saved." and move to the summary.

In the summary your choices appear in the "Extras" section, and in the price breakdown as the "Extras", "Insurance" and "Carrier services" rows.

We do not issue the insurance policy straight away. The insurer does it once the payment is booked in. The certificate then lands in your "Travel wallet".

For an outside insurer's policy your trip details additionally show: an "Insurer: …" row, "Policy certificate" and "Policy terms" links (they lead to the insurer's site) and a "File a claim with the insurer" button. Claims under such a policy are accepted and paid by the insurer — we only take you to their form.

We confirm carrier service prices at the moment the booking is saved with the carrier. That is why the amount in the summary may differ by a few grosz from the one in the list.

You pay exactly what the carrier charges for a seat — we do not add our own margin on top. The selected seat then shows in the price breakdown under "Carrier services" and on the e-ticket.

Frequent questions

Can I go on without any extra? Yes. The note under the form says it plainly: "You can continue without extras.".

Can I buy insurance later? Yes. The description of the "No insurance" option says: "Continue without a policy — you can buy one later.". You buy a policy separately in the "Insurance" tab.

Why does one policy say "Insurer" and another does not? Because that one comes from an outside company, not from our own partner. We then say plainly who insures you and give a link to their terms — so you know who your contract is with.

What if the outside insurer does not answer while I am booking? The insurance card then shows only the policies we managed to price. The booking continues normally — a missing offer never blocks buying the trip.

I cannot see the carrier baggage card. We show it only for flights and only when the carrier has sent a list of its services. When the list is empty the card does not appear. You can then buy baggage after booking — the booking details page has an "Add baggage or a seat" card.

How much do I pay for a seat? Exactly what the carrier charges. The price on the square comes from them and we do not add a commission.

I cannot see the seat map. Why? Not every carrier shares one, and some share only a preview without selling. You will then get a seat at check-in — free of charge, but without a choice.

I picked a seat and changed my mind. Click the square again — the selection disappears. You can also come back to this step from the summary page.

What does "Cover sums: 150% of the base package" mean? That the payout limits in this variant are half again higher than in the basic variant. For example medical costs up to PLN 300,000 instead of PLN 200,000.

I chose a seat on the plane. Is it guaranteed? We order the service from the carrier when creating the booking. Final confirmation comes from them. If the seat were unavailable, support will contact you.
