Language and currency

How to switch between Polish and English, how to change the display currency and what the "≈" sign means.

What this is for

Airsockfly speaks two languages: Polish and English.

Prices in the system are always in zloty, but you can preview them in another currency. For example in euro, when you compare prices with a foreign website.

Who it is for

For everyone. You do not need to be logged in. If you have an account, your choice can be saved in your profile.

What you see

In the header of every page, on the right, there are two small round buttons:

  • A button with a letters icon — it shows the short code of the other language: EN when the page is in Polish, and PL when it is in English. Clicking it switches the language.
  • A button with a coins icon — it shows a three-letter currency code, for example PLN. Clicking it opens a list.

The currency list has the heading "Display currency". You can choose: PLN, EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, CZK. The current currency has a tick. At the bottom of the list there is a sentence:

"Amounts in other currencies are indicative. The charge is always in PLN."

Step by step

Changing the language

  1. Click the round button that says EN or PL.
  2. The page reloads in the other language.
  3. Your choice is saved in a small file in your browser (a cookie). Next time the page opens in that language straight away.

Changing the currency

  1. Click the button with the currency code, for example PLN.
  2. Pick a currency from the list, for example EUR.
  3. All the prices on the page are converted and an sign appears in front of them.

Saving it permanently in your profile

  1. Log in.
  2. Go to "My profile", then "Edit profile".
  3. In the "Travel preferences" section choose Language and Currency.
  4. Click "Save changes".

What happens next

The language changes all the words: buttons, headings, error messages, and also the e-mails we send you.

The currency changes only how prices look. Nothing else. Payment is always in zloty. On the payment page we say it again: "Charge in PLN: PLN 4,380.00" and "Payment is handled by Stripe. Settlement is in PLN, whatever display currency you chose.".

We take the rate from the official table of the National Bank of Poland for that day. That is why the converted amount is approximate — hence the sign, which reads "about".

Frequent questions

What exactly does "≈" in front of a price mean? That it is an indicative conversion. The real amount that leaves your account is in zloty and you see it at payment.

Can I pay in euro? No. Settlement is always in zloty. Your bank may then convert it to your currency at its own rate.

I cannot see the currency button. Why? The button only shows when more than one currency is available. When the platform settings allow zloty only, the button is hidden.

I changed the language but one label stayed in Polish. Proper names are not translated — for example names of cities, hotels and airlines. The same goes for partner rate plan names.

Which language are my e-mails in? The one set in your profile. If you have no account, we use the language of the site at the moment of booking.
