Mobile app — push notifications
The notification consent screen, the switch in settings, the notification list and what to do when nothing arrives.
What this is for
A push notification is a short message that appears on your phone screen. You do not have to open the app to see it.
We use them for urgent things: booking confirmations, payment problems, changes in your trip and price drops.
Who it is for
For people who logged into the app and agreed to notifications.
What you see
The consent screen
After your first login the app shows a "Stay up to date." screen with the subtitle "Get notifications about bookings and the offers you watch.".
Two cards:
- The status of your bookings — "Get up-to-date information about changes and important dates."
- Price alerts — "Find out when the prices of watched offers change."
Two buttons: "Turn on notifications" and "Later".
Under them the note: "You can change your preferences in settings.".
The switch in settings
In the Profile → Settings tab there is a push channel switch. Next to it are the "Price alerts by e-mail" and "Inspiration and promotions" switches plus a language choice.
The notification list
The app has a "Notifications" screen with the tabs "All" and "Unread" and a "Mark all as read" button.
Each notification shows a time: "Today, 14:20", "Yesterday, 09:05" or "3 days ago".
When there is nothing: "No notifications" and "Notifications about bookings and alerts will appear here.".
Step by step
- Log into the app.
- On the "Stay up to date." screen tap "Turn on notifications".
- Your phone will ask for system permission. Tap "Allow".
- Done. The app remembers your phone and will send notifications to it from now on.
If you tapped "Later" earlier:
- Go to Profile → Settings.
- Turn on the push notification switch.
- Your phone will ask for system permission. Tap "Allow".
- Save the settings.
What happens next
Two gates
For a notification to arrive, two conditions must be met:
- Consent in the app — you tapped "Turn on notifications" or turned the switch on in settings.
- Permission in your phone's system — the phone lets the app show notifications.
You can withdraw both at any time. You turn the system permission off in your phone settings, not in the app.
If you refuse the system permission, the app will say: "Without system permission we cannot send notifications — you can turn them on in your phone settings.".
On an emulator or a device without a notification service you will see: "Push notifications are not available on this device — we will tell you about changes by e-mail.".
Which notifications you will get
- Booking confirmed — "Payment received — the details are in the app."
- Booking cancelled — "The cancellation has been recorded."
- Payment problem — "The payment did not go through — try again in the app."
- Flight confirmed — "Ticket issued — details and the PNR are in the app."
- A change in your trip — "Check the disruption details and the options available."
- The price dropped — "A watched offer reached your price threshold."
- Offer unavailable — "The watched offer is no longer available."
- Cheaper in your search — "We found a lower price in your saved search."
- Your tour is coming up — "A reminder about the upcoming date."
- Cancellation request accepted — "We are handling your request — we will let you know the decision."
- Change request accepted — "We are checking availability for the new dates."
When the app is open, a notification appears as a banner at the top of the screen and drops into the list. We play a sound, because these are important messages.
What happens after logging out
When you log out, the app unregisters your phone from notifications. That way the next person who logs in on that phone will not see your messages.
Privacy
We keep your device identifier (a token) so we know where to send a notification. We never write it out in full in our logs — only the last six characters.
Frequent questions
I turned notifications on but nothing arrives. Check one by one: the switch in the app "Settings", the permission in your phone settings, the internet on your phone. Also check whether the phone is in "do not disturb" mode.
Can I get e-mails instead of push? Yes. Transactional messages always also go by e-mail. Push is just faster.
Are the notifications in my language? Yes, in the language set in the app and in your profile.
I turned notifications off. Will I miss a flight disruption? No. You will get transactional information by e-mail, and you will see the event in the panel, under "Travel disruptions".
Will I get ads as push notifications? No. We send push notifications about your bookings and the offers you watch. Marketing messages go by e-mail and only with your consent.
